The PSAT can qualify students for the National Merit Scholarship Program while serving as a practice test for later college entrance exams. Designed for high school juniors, it’s slated to be administered in October.
To find out about opportunities to take the PSAT/NMSQT, contact your local public or private school. Ask if they are giving the test and if homeschoolers can arrange to take it. Although this year’s PSAT/NMSQT testing may be offered on weekdays during the testing window of October 2-31 as well as Saturday, October 14, your local schools may have more narrow testing dates, so contact them early.
More information about the test and program can be found here.
PSAT 10 (10th graders) and PSAT 8/9 (8th and 9th) at the College Board site.
