Home School Day at the Capitol
Each year during the WV Legislative session, homeschoolers gather at the WV State Capitol to highlight the advantages and successes of homeschooling to legislators. The halls are lined with creative displays that showcase homeschoolers’ active part in communities all over West Virginia.
Legislators comment on how respectful, outgoing, and intelligent the students are. The stereotype of unsocialized homeschool students is refuted as the students meet legislators, perform fine arts selections, or volunteer as pages. Educational tours are also available to round out the experience for participating families.
