Leading homeschool researchers just released the first nationwide homeschool achievement study in fifteen years. This peer-reviewed article provides new data on homeschool student achievement and parents’ reasons for homeschooling.
Researchers found that homeschool students scored substantially above the norm group in reading, language, math, social studies, and science. The study also found that student achievement was generally not associated with family income, parent education levels, or whether the parent providing instruction held a state teacher certification.
