Fine Arts Festival

Registration begins January 1, 2021.

For many years the West Virginia Christian Education Association (WVCEA) has graciously invited CHEWV members to participate in their Fine Arts Festivals.  The WVCEA is affiliated with the national organization American Association of Christian Schools (AACS).  The Fine Arts Festival is a recognized statewide event where CHEWV members are able to gain recognition in areas of expertise.  Home educators in West Virginia may only participate through affiliation with CHEWV.

It must be understood that CHEWV is not a member of the AACS.  Therefore, at the Senior High level our students are not eligible to advance to the National Competition at Bob Jones University.  WVCEA has graciously invited our home educated students to participate at the state level for many years.  This invitation is very much appreciated because it gives home schoolers an opportunity to improve talents and earn state-level commendation from a recognized organization.  This can be valuable on college applications and in college portfolios.

Each student is critiqued and rated by at least two judges who have expertise in the area of entry.  The ratings are then averaged to determine whether the student will be given a Superior Award, an Excellent Award, or a rating.  At the Senior and Junior High Levels, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places are also awarded.
