John Carey and CHEWV board member Wendy Summers were back in Charleston today, meeting with several legislators from both the House and Senate.

Although HB3408 was expected to be on Second Reading today, it was not put on the House agenda for this morning’s session. This indicates that discussions are still going on within the House regarding the bill’s fate.

It is very clear that your calls and emails have had a substantial impact on slowing the bill down, enabling House members more time to examine the concerns we all have raised. Until the bill is placed back on the House calendar, we feel that no additional contacts are needed. As always, CHEWV will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated.
